VACO HOUSE | Our Story

Since 2025. Two Countries. One Story. Shared Around Every Table.

Long before VACO HOUSE opened its doors in 2025, our story was already being written around family tables. In Venezuela, weekends meant handmade empanadas, crispy pastelitos, and arepas prepared the way our families had made them for generations. Those flavors remind us of school mornings, the high school cafeteria, and the meals that brought friends and family together. In Colombia, every morning begins with another tradition: a great cup of Colombian coffee. A Colombian morning simply doesn't feel complete without a tinto. That daily ritual became just as important to our story as the food itself.
Where Every Visit Becomes a Tradition

Where Every Visit Becomes a Tradition

By 1995, a street-side tradition had grown into a proper restaurant. Loyal customers felt less like guests and more like family — the lines grew longer, the quality never wavered.
Colombia and the Coffee Soul

Colombia and the Coffee Soul

Coffee isn't simply part of Colombian culture. It is how mornings begin, conversations start, and families come together. We honor that tradition by serving 100% Colombian coffee and creating signature drinks that respect its origins while giving every cup a modern VACO HOUSE touch.
When Venezuelan Tradition Met Colombian Coffee Culture

When Venezuelan Tradition Met Colombian Coffee Culture

In 2021, two family traditions became one vision. Venezuelan recipes that had been shared for generations met Colombia's rich coffee culture, creating the foundation for what would become VACO HOUSE. Every empanada, every arepa, every pastelito, and every cup of coffee reflects both sides of our story.
A Cultural Bridge in Hyde Park

A Cultural Bridge in Hyde Park

When we chose Hyde Park as our home, we weren't simply opening a restaurant. We were becoming part of one of Austin's most welcoming communities. From day one, Hyde Park embraced our culture with warmth and curiosity, making us feel at home while allowing us to share a piece of Venezuela and Colombia with our neighbors. Today, VACO HOUSE stands as a cultural bridge where Austin's welcoming spirit meets the traditions, flavors, and hospitality of our two countries.
